Mr Ivan Ong graduated with Bachelor of Law with Honours (LL.B) from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and was awarded the Azmi and Associate Most Outstanding Law Graduate by the Vice Chancellor UKM. He was also awarded with four consecutive Dean's List Awards during his third and final years of study.

Mr Ivan Ong emerged as the champion of the UKM Client Counseling Competition 2019 and 2nd runner up for the 3rd National International Humanitarian Law Role Play Competition 2017. He continues to have a strong relationship with his alma mater through consistent involvement in coaching student-mooters and serving as a judge in both national and regional moot competitions.

After he completed his 9 months of pupillage at one of the biggest firm in Malaysia, Ivan was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in the year 2021.

Mr Ivan Ong commenced her legal practice in a leading law firm in Malaysia before joining Messrs Gan & Zul as a legal associate. He specialises in contractual, construction, land and commercial disputes. Ivan also advises clients on matters pertaining to corporate real estate, integrated property developments involving strata planning and management. He has advised and represented leading property developers, government linked companies (GLC), multi-national corporations (MNC) and listed companies. He currently serves as an committee member of the Bar Council’s Corporate & Commercial Law Committee (2023/2024) and Environment and Climate Change Committee (2023/2024).
