Professional Experience
Dato’ Simon began his legal practice in 1991 at Messrs Shook Lin & Bok, one of the largest law firms in Malaysia. In 1999, he founded his own firm, Messrs SC Lim & Partners.
His legal practice is both versatile and vibrant, covering commercial litigation and corporate commercial matters. He has been appointed as a director of several public listed companies in Malaysia and has chaired numerous disciplinary proceedings against advocates and solicitors for the Bar Council in Malaysia.
Dato' Simon's leadership qualities have been apparent since his university days, and his heart for societal affairs has led him to serve numerous NGOs throughout his career. His compassion for public affairs also saw him appointed as a political secretary to the Minister of Transport, Malaysia from 2009 to 2010.
He is also an accomplished scholar, having graduated from the University of Malaya with a degree in Physics. He continued his studies, pursuing his LLB at the University of London and earning his Master's in Law at the University of Malaya. He has further distinguished himself as a Barrister at Law of Lincoln's Inn, UK, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK and Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators. He is also a qualified panel mediator and an arbitrator of AIAC, Malaysia.
He is a firm believer in educating, sharing, and giving. He has been invited to deliver many talks at local and international forums. Since 2016, he has led his firm as the managing partner, demonstrating his commitment to excellence.
