Talk on Malaysia Statutory Adjudication in Construction Disputes

Talk on Malaysia Statutory Adjudication in Construction Disputes

The Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 (CIPAA) was gazetted on 22nd June 2012 and came into operation on 15th April 2014. The Act introduces statutory adjudication, which is a form of dispute resolution aimed at tackling payment-related construction disputes and to facilitate cash flow within the construction industry.

Well, as of September 2019, there are still many industry players unequipped with the knowledge and rights conferred by CIPAA and when can they adjudicate their dispute which arise during the course of construction. For this reason alone, Messrs Gan & Zul has decided to organise a talk on Statutory Adjudication in Malaysia on 11th September 2019. The firm’s partner, Mr Ben Lee, who’s practice focuses on construction and engineering disputes since his admission to the bar, was the lead speaker at the talk. Mr Ben Lee also sits as an adjudicator empanelled by AIAC and an arbitrator under CIARB.

The talk turn out to be a fruitful one and hopefully the participants apply their knowledge gained through the talk whenever a dispute arises in their respective company.
